You too can use less plastic
Nowadays, refusing plastic bags is no longer necessary in most shops. Either they’re gone or you have to pay for them. But there are other places where you can say no to unnecessary disposable plastic.
In a bar or restaurant, you can refuse a straw for example. It’s festive sometimes and you might like to drink with it, but you don’t need a straw to enjoy a drink. And a plastic straw is a hugely harmful polluter. Precisely because they are small and light, they do not always end up in the recycling bin. They stay behind, on the beach, blow into the water and threaten the sea creatures here.
If you order something online, you can send an email to or call the provider to tell them that you don’t want unnecessary plastic packaging in your box. And believe us, we know from our own experience that it works.
Nothing like a cooling ice cream on a hot day. But did you know that by choosing an ice cream you can also make a difference? An edible and degradable cone does not leave any packaging residue behind. While most cups – even if they look like cardboard – are at least coated with plastic to prevent leakage. Moreover, to empty a cup of ice, you still need a spoon.
